Abstract

This ethnographic study seeks to examine the educational and migration experiences and identities of men and women who migrated from the Philippines to the United States for education, labor, or family reunification from a diasporic and gendered framework. In particular, this paper examines the participants’ educational experiences before and after migration, identity (re)formation, racialized and gendered positioning in the global knowledge economy.
