Not for Us: An Exploratory Study of Black Male Undergraduates’ Lived Experiences

Abstract

The purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the lived experiences of black male undergraduate students at the University of Kentucky; a southern, predominantly white, four-year, public research university. The findings of this exploratory study provide a starting point for these efforts. Additionally, this study contributes to the growing scholarly literature on the qualitative experiences of black male undergraduates at predominantly white colleges and universities.
