College Match Project

• In Event: Make Me a Match: Helping Underrepresented Students Make Good College Choices

Abstract

MDRC launched the ambitious and innovative College Match Project (CMP) in 2009 to help low-income, higher performing high school students enroll and succeed in four-year colleges and universities. With support from the Ford, Joyce, MacArthur, Spencer and Jack Kent Cooke Foundations, MDRC piloted an initiative in 2010-2011 that served 160 students in three Chicago Public Schools (CPS) high schools. Initial results were very positive and the program is now prepared to expand in Chicago, launch in New York and start in at least one other city.
