Abstract

Gender still matters. The construct still needs further theorizing and problematizing in a complex framework of interlocking dimensions and in a context of new theorizations. In this paper, I explore examples from emergent scholarship by theorists of colour and argue that, at a time when we see great ambiguity and conflation between terms such as multiculturalism, diversity, and “social justice” theoretical clarity regarding gender and how implicates other dimensions, such as, for example, race, class, and sexuality, does matter.
