Designing Hybrid Field-Based Experiences: Insights From Faculty in One Urban Teacher Education Program

Abstract
In response to the conference theme, To know is not enough, faculty across multiple disciplines in one School of Education present how they implement innovative field-based experiences in their courses for pre- and in-service teachers to enact knowledge about teaching and learning. Papers presented by faculty in child development, literacy, TESOL and English Education discuss field experiences embedded in coursework that provide unique opportunities for teacher candidates to experience “to do as well as know”.
