Session Submission Type: Symposium
This symposium will contribute to the conversation around issues of identity, positioning, and power in mathematics learning. Across our studies, we drew on multiple data sources (surveys, videos from classrooms, interviews, student focus groups, and classroom artifacts) to shed new light on who high school students are as learners of mathematics. We problematize schooling experiences and privilege student voice in researching participation and learning in high school mathematics with historically marginalized student populations.
