Session Submission Type: Symposium
This session is based on a volume of twenty-six autobiographpical essays by leading scholars in the history of American education. Three of the twenty-six contributors will participate in the session, including the editor of the volume, who is also a contributor. The editor will chair and introduce the session, discussing the genesis of the volume and his own contribution briefly. Two of the contributors to the volume will discuss the preparation and content of their essays. Three discussants, a senior Canadian educational historian, a senior American educational historian who is not a contributor, and noted higher education scholar versed in autobiography and life history, wil respond to the presentation.
