Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
This symposium brings together the multiple facets of building and testing a formative assessment survey tool for school leadership. The Comprehensive Assessment of Leadership for Learning (CALL) takes a task-based distributed cognition perspective on school leadership, and measures leadership tasks in five core domains: focus on learning, monitoring teaching and learning, building nested learning communities, acquiring and allocating resources, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Each paper within this symposium will focus on an aspect of the development of this tool: how CALL is and will be used, the design of a formative feedback system, a case study from piloting of CALL, and a validation analysis from the piloting stage as well.
