Abstract

“Educational globalization” denotes that international organizations and global networks of political and economic institutions influence nations to adopt similar educational policies (Spring, 2008). In prescribing particular curricula and pedagogic practice, educational globalization reflects goals like growing the global economy or achieving human rights for all. In looking at four domains, this symposium's primary objective is to share examples of the particular intentions contained in educational globalization. Global early childhood education prescribes particular values for childhood, global education in information and communications technology encourages the development of the digital mind, global math education inculcates in students the moral of hard work, and global language education policy serves the needs of a new governmentality.
