Session Submission Type: Symposium
This symposium presents 2011 results from the multi-year global Innovative Teaching and Learning (ITL) Research program. “Innovative teaching” and “21st century learning” are becoming increasingly commonplace, but the progress and character of their implementation in the classroom varies widely in different national and local educational contexts. ITL Research investigates the drivers and results of reform within and across seven very diverse countries, and provides resources and hands-on workshops to help teachers translate these ideas into practice. This symposium will describe global results from this multi-national study and present case studies of innovative teaching from four participating countries. Each country presentation will also describe the ways in which the program has helped to shape national and local policy and practice.
