Training School Professionals in the Field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Abstract
The gap between service-need and service-delivery in child and youth mental health is well documented in the literature. Topics of discussion include 1) the importance of training graduate students in psychodiagnostic assessment, 2) factors relating to sustainability of a school-based behavior support intervention, School-wide Positive Behavior Support, and 3) training graduate students to deliver an evidence-based preventive curriculum for children with anxiety. Session attendees will gain an understanding of the benefits of cross disciplinary graduate training for school helping professionals, and the factors that enhance and challenge training objectives.
