Integrating Issues of Knowledge and Interaction in Analyses of Cognition and Learning

Sat, April 14, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Sheraton Wall Centre, Floor: Fourth Level, North Port McNeill

Session Submission Type: Symposium

Abstract

This symposium brings together researchers engaged in the innovative and challenging agenda of studying how individual cognitive dynamics interact with complex social dynamics. Such work involves coordinating diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives for the purpose of being mutually accountable to issues of both knowledge and interaction in analyses of cognition and learning. To this end, each of the contributed papers involves a collaborative analysis between researchers who have complementary or contrasting perspectives on theory and methods. The contributions to this session involve the analysis of rich video data involving issues of knowing and learning across a purposeful diversity of naturalistic and clinical interactional contexts.
