Session Submission Type: Symposium
The session presents the results of a major experiment on the effectiveness of a state initiative to improve math and science achievement. The research draws on collaboration between a state education agency and a federally funded Regional Education Laboratory. Five presentations 1) introduce the initiative from the state point of view; 2) outline the experimental design; 3) provide the findings of the implementation study; 4) provide the experimental results of the initiative’s impact for the first year; 5) provide the methodology and results of the initiative’s impact after two years. The presentations are tied together in terms of the research results applied to state policy.
