Session Submission Type: Symposium
This symposium presents four case studies of learning technology “mash-ups”: collaborative projects that bring together two existing technology bases in an effort to leverage their respective strengths in pursuit of richer learning tools. The presenters will recount the origins of their collaborations, describe their component technologies, discuss the challenges and opportunities encountered in their work, and briefly summarize the status of their mash-ups, from both technological and pedagogical perspectives. The audience will be invited to share their own “mash-up” experiences, and to contribute to a discussion of the ways in which we might foster a more cohesive development community to supports the re-use and adaptation emerging technologies.
