Session Submission Type: Working Group Roundtable
The imperative for next generation assessments to fully measure the Common Core State Standards has led to a renaissance for performance-based assessment (PBA). At both the state and district level, projects that involve PBAs have recently been initiated or implemented. In this working group, researchers, state- and district-level practitioners, and assessment vendors share perspectives around ongoing PBA projects. Specifically, participants will describe their efforts to development and administer PBAs at the state and district level. Participants will prepare papers on their work for the symposium. The session will revolve around answers to scripted and spontaneous questions posed to the panelists, an expert “reactor” who will add insights to the topics discussed, and ample opportunity for audience questions and comments.
