Session Submission Type: Symposium
This symposium will present findings from the first year of a large-scale action research project initiated by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). The project aims to support systemic implementation of social and emotional learning programming throughout several large school districts while also documenting impact of these efforts, developing practical support for districts, and building theory on district-level processes that promote social and emotional learning in schools and classrooms. Perspectives from school district leaders, external evaluators, and CASEL staff will be presented and synthesized to convey emerging insights on how school districts can ensure high quality implementation of evidence-based programming to promote social and emotional learning, and how research and practice organizations can support them in pursuing this vision.
