Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
The academic and professional fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (known collectively as “STEM”) have recently become popular areas of interest in K-12 education. Given this, it is important that new teachers be recruited, prepared, and supported to teach these fields effectively. The papers in this roundtable investigate various aspects of STEM teacher education. Topics such as the following are considered: how to implement STEM programs in universities or teacher networks, how to effectively teach science and science teachers, and how to prepare math teachers for equity in K-12 schools.
