Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
Over the last two decades, online learning and teaching have entered the mainstream in domains of teacher education and teacher professional development. Additionally, new views of curriculum and teacher support around thinking differently about content areas have proliferated. Several of the papers in this roundtable examine various contemporary uses of online instruction in service of teacher professional development— and one paper focuses on American history teaching. Generally, this roundtable considers ways to employ online instruction to foster teacher inquiry, the value of online technologies for language and literacy teachers, and value of partnering with a local university to support new views of teaching American history.
