Innovations in Preservice Teacher Education: Evaluation and Assessment

Abstract
This session explores critical issues in assessment and evaluation in teacher education. Evaluation of teacher education course content, collaboration in assessment of teacher performance, and student curricular evaluations are primary discussion components for the session. The impact of teacher education program quality and in particular how it effects teacher quality is explored in one of the papers. Evaluation rigor is emphasized in this session. Additionally, connections between school administration and teacher quality are made in one of the papers. The session links assessment to evaluation throughout the presented papers.
