Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
This session includes four papers, each researching approaches to teaching and learning to write through the arts. Two papers look at using film making: One explores a teen/adult film making partnership to engender healing, while the other examines how adults can overshadow students’ attempts to insert their identities into their original texts. Supporting successful partnerships toward a strong writing pedagogy, Writers and Artists Coming Together studies literacy partnerships that work. Finally, “Thinking Lyrically” looks at how secondary school songwriters are supported in the classroom.
