Teacher Education Policy Initiatives Committee Open Meeting

Abstract

This is a scheduled open meeting of an important committee that focuses on policies in teacher education. Anyone is invited to the meeting who is interested in or directly involved in the development, implementation, or investigation of state and national policy initiatives related to teaching and teacher education. Particular attention will be given to policy issues related to the status of teaching as a profession, bargaining rights, teacher tenure, teacher performance evaluation (preservice and inservice), the evaluation of teaching practices, and the standards set for agencies and institutions that prepare teachers and teacher educators.
