ICSEI is an international organization that has been studying school effectiveness and school improvement around the world for 25 years. This session brings members from many international venues together to examine how to connect research, policy and practice in a range of political contexts.
1) Objectives of the session: to discuss and share insights related to linking research policy and practice in school effectiveness and school improvement
2) Overview of the presentation: This session will be an interactive symposium examining the challenges associated with linking research, policy and practice as it relates to school effectiveness and school improvement.

ICSEI has spent 25 years engaged in just this debate and in developing practical and workable approaches to making the links. This session will highlight some of the learning from this long history and experience.
4) Structure of the session: This session will be a combination of short presentations by ICSEI members from a range of countries and facilitated discussion about the issues of connecting research, policy and practice in real contexts.
