Acting on What We Know: Exemplary Models of Educational Research and Practice in Indigenous Schools and Communities

Abstract

This session will address the conference theme - “To know is not enough” - by engaging in a critical discussion about what research means to Indigenous serving schools, how research is utilized by these schools, how research might be re-crafted in order to better meet the needs of these schools, and how we, as researchers, might effectively engage schools in research aimed at effecting positive educational change. This session also provides a unique opportunity to explore ways in which various forms of audio and video technology are and can be used to facilitate research and inform educational practices in Indigenous schools and communities.
