AERA Task Force on Evaluating Educational Research, Scholarship, and Teaching in Postsecondary Education: An Open Discussion Forum

Abstract

At the February AERA Council meeting the Council approved a Task Force on Evaluating Educational Research, Scholarship and Teaching in Postsecondary Education. The Chair of the Task Force is Professor James Fairweather of Michigan State University. The Task Force members may be found on the AERA web page along with the charge to the group. The focus of the Task Force is to consider how to evaluate research, scholarship and teaching in a rapidly changing academic environment. This session will be an informal meeting for all members of the association to provide input on the topic and to aid the Task Force in its deliberations. The intent of the Council is for the Task Force to present a draft of their report to the Executive Board in October, and for the Council to discuss the issues at their February, 2013 meeting.
