The purpose of this study was to investigate the design aspects of instructional video effecting for preservice teachers’ learning outcome in online course on students learning outcome. Three-group pretest-posttest design employed to assess whether there was significant differences in students' test scores after watching instructional video. The results of the ANCOVA analysis indicate that there was significant effect of the design on students’ learning outcome and students’ learning preferences related significantly and positively to their learning outcome. These findings suggest that the use of educational video in online courses require design manipulation and to develop content for students in online courses by considering students’ learning preferences and area of specialization to optimize their learning.
