This paper engages the thought of philosopher Jacques Ranciere to think about a science education that engages in political action. Ranciere's notion of politics and police are used to reposition the importance of citizenship action and social engagement in science education. Lastly several contexts for science and science education are considered including indigenous movements and knowledges.
