Tuning In to Curricular Openings With Antonin Artaud and Christian Morriseau

Abstract

As a mother, curriculum theorist, a/r/tographer, actor and director, I have learned that we cannot come to know solely through intellectual pursuits. Rather, life requires a continual re/enactment of becoming to openness that includes physical and metaphysical experiences. However, I struggle with talking about what Maxine Greene (1995) calls breaking the limits of the conventional and for this reason I am compelled to explore why this is so difficult and important for my teaching and research. As a way to further understand this opening I turn to Artaudian and curricular conversations that help me to describe conditions for tuning into and understanding a curricular opening.
