College and career readiness depends largely on academic factors such as grade point average and college admissions exams scores, yet other researchers have proposed the importance of non-academic factors as equally important. In this pilot study, a measure of non-academic factors was administered at one high school. We examined the relationship of the scores to academic factors and compared students with and without disabilities. Results show small to medium effects in terms of the strength of association between academic and non-academic factors and precise areas where students with and without disabilities differ in non-academic areas. Ultimately, findings should be replicated at more high schools to determine the importance of non-academic factors and clarify needed supports for students with disabilities.
