This paper investigates the effects of parental expectation on postschool outcomes for individuals who are d/Deaf or hard-of-hearing (DHH). We conducted a secondary data analysis of a large-scale representative sample of young people and their parents collected over the course of 10 years. The analysis focused on three domains of postschool outcomes: independent living, postsecondary education, and employment. Logistic regression was used for binary outcomes, while ordinary least squares regression was used for continuous outcomes. The parental expectation variables that had a statistically significant impact on outcomes included expectations to live independently, expectations to be employed, and expectations related to postsecondary education. Results are discussed relative to postschool transition planning for individuals who are DHH.
