This paper explores visual forms of writing through cartography and methodological events. As re-envisioned methodologies potentially push boundaries of qualitative research, new lines of inquiry respond to persisting educational challenges. An inquiry into the career pathways of teacher leaders sets in motion a series of methodological events related to writing, analysis, and our researcher selves. We propose that writing visually and approaching research as Deleuzian events help scholars avoid recycling research and retracing existing policies. Uncertainty manifests as productive analytical space within a Deleuzian installation of visual writings: cartography, lines of flight and atlases assemble into an embodied rhizome. We find that writing visually may allow scholars to escape unproductive discursive practices and approach innovations in methodology and policy.
