Fri, April 4, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Terrace IV

Abstract

In this qualitative study, the researchers examine how Southeast Asian American college students navigate through higher education. Interviews will be conducted with 20 college juniors and seniors or recent graduates to find out how they experienced the transition between high school to college and the challenges they encountered in making this transition. A modified version of the van Kaam method of data analysis will be used. The ultimate aim of this study is to offer implications to inform the practices of faculty, student affairs educators, and academic affairs administrators who endeavor to support Southeast Asian American students.
