What are Christian research paradigms? Some Christians argue that humans can know God (and hence God’s will for the world) through personal revelation as an ongoing part of human experience, available to all the pure of heart. A different Christian perspective is that revelation occurred through Jesus and that further revelation to individuals (except perhaps to the pope) is impossible. Ecumenical Christians believe that divine understanding is available by finding the best in Christianity and in all religions. Additionally, Tillich’s “ground-of-all-being” perspective and various cognitive-rational-scientific Christian viewpoints exist. Oxford explores these perspectives ontologically, epistemologically, and methodologically.
