Assessing Faculty Perspectives on Organizational Research Climate Including Integrity, Ethics, and Productivity

Abstract

Reports the results from an analysis of the organizational research climate at a mid-sized private university in the Midwest. This university has grown rapidly over the past ten years and now serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students in four colleges in both traditional and online formats. The research climate was assessed by surveying the full time faculty (N = 152) using Thrush, Martinson, Crain, and Wells’s Survey of Organizational Research Climate (2011). Sixty-two faculty members responded to this survey with representation from each of the four colleges and many different disciplines. The results from this survey are being used to establish a baseline level of perceived research climate so that decisions can be made related to professional development.
