A Different Diversity? Disability Studies Perspectives for Postsecondary Diversity Agendas

Sun, April 6, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Terrace IV

Abstract

Noticeably absent from post-secondary diversity agendas is the consideration of disability as a form of diversity. This qualitative research study explores how "diversity workers" who employ Disability Studies perspectives see their efforts as part of diversity work on college campuses and, at the same time, how those who work in more traditional diversity areas understand disability as a form of diversity.
