With their prevalence rates overall on the rise, increasing numbers of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are being educated in inclusive settings. However, educators’ lack of experience in teaching students with ASD coupled with the students’ academic, social, and behavioral difficulties can present challenges to their successful inclusion. Thus, there exists a need for research that targets evidence-based practices for this unique, yet growing, population. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of one promising practice, video self-modeling, delivered using video iPad minis, on the academic engagement of ASD students during instruction in the general education classroom.
