Abstract

Catharine Cox Miles authored the only biographical research volume of the famous Terman longitudinal studies. Her work as a humanities and psychology scholar have been recently rediscovered by researchers in biography, gender studies, and gifted education. Her life as a mother, stepmother, clinical psychologist, and Quaker activist influenced her work. She is an exemplar of biographical research from both qualitative narrative and quantitative historiometric perspectives.
