The ever-changing nature of the global economy challenges education systems to equip their populations with the capacities to think from critical and concrete levels. However, teachers and by extension schools remain challenged by completing demands to adapt to such emerging social dynamics and to respond to overarching demands for school effectiveness. The objectives of this paper are therefore to assess the utility of performative pedagogy in learning about and teaching through the use of creativity in the classroom. Findings show that teachers remain inhibited by internal and external realities that limit the effect of their performances on their professional practice and point to the need for further discussions on needed repositioning of professional practices within the education system.
