This research investigates students’ expertise divergence in a problem-based learning (PBL) course on organization development. Written texts on various tasks of 31 students were collected and used as re-representations of mental models for statistical analyzes of divergence. Contradictory to our hypotheses results show no increase of convergence and divergence in externalized models with the growth of expertise. Further post-hoc analyses are discussed in order to gain more insight in the development of expertise within PBL-scenarios.
