Faculty Response to a 1-to-1 iPad Initiative: A Snapshot of Technology Adoption

Abstract

This mixed method study reports the results of a year-long professional development program for faculty in a college of education that was engaging in a 1-to-1 iPad initiative. Faculty increased in their adoption of the technology and self-efficacy using the technology. Interview data showed that the initiative and trainings helped to promote community and a willingness to learn from preservice teachers. Implications for large-scale implementation and ongoing professional development within a college of education setting will be discussed.
