Too Much to Bear? Examining the Effects of Unsubsidized and Subsidized Loans on Degree Attainment Across Income Groups

Thu, April 3, 12:00 to 1:30pm, Convention Center, Floor: 100 Level, 120C

Abstract

This study examines the effects of unsubsidized and subsidized federal loans on six-year degree attainment at 4-year colleges and universities and how these differentially impact students across income groups. To account for possible endogeneity and the nested data structure, this study employs a propensity score matching, multilevel modeling approach.
