Risk and Resilience in Case Management Experiences of Beginning Special Education Teachers

Abstract

This is a descriptive qualitative analysis of how first-year special education teachers experienced risk and resilience in case management. The purpose was to gain insight into the experiences of these teachers in order to identify what makes them resilient and how schools can support their resilience. This study provides recommendations for school administrators and teacher preparation programs about how to mitigate risk in this environment and to promote resilience.
