The study focuses on reframing teachers' emotions by school leadership. Principals are advised to identify and manage teachers' emotions and promote their well-being, but these claims remain under-explored. Analyses of data from a random sample of 69 schools show a cross-level relationship between transformational leadership and teachers’ emotional reframing. Furthermore, we found that transformational behaviors and teachers’ emotional reframing partially mediated the link between principals’ emotion recognition ability and teachers’ satisfaction with principals, and through the latter, teachers’ job satisfaction. The study also found a moderate mediation effect as the indirect relationship between transformational leadership and teachers’ job satisfaction through emotional reframing depends on job difficulty levels.
