This qualitative study examines the intersection of religion, calling, and teacher education. The author explores the meaning of calling for four Christian preservice teachers during their student teaching semester at a large, public university. Narrative inquiry is used to describe how the participants interpret and understand their religious faith and sense of calling through the lens of their past, present, and future. This study reveals the complexity of what calling means and the ways religious beliefs influence preservice teachers’ views on students and the teaching profession.
