Abstract

This research paper explores the influence of critical incidents on pre-service educators understanding of educational law, ethics and professionalism. The study provides a comparative analysis of a pre-service preparation course on educational law, ethics and professionalism and student perceptions of legal and ethical issues as seen through an examination of critical incidents. Using a case study approach, the study highlights student perceptions of interactivity, engagement, and critical thinking and examines the connection between the content of student critical incident reports and pre-service education program for beginning teachers.
