Abstract

The Field Experience Learning Community Online (FELConline) is a web-based learning tool intended to support the needs of partners and participants involved in the field experience or practicum component of pre-service teacher education. This paper provides a documentary account of the nature, purpose, and features of this technological and open-access innovation, and demonstrates the power of education research for innovation in practicum practice. A chronicle of FELConline’s evolution, reveals how education research served as a catalyst for creating this knowledge mobilization innovation as a potential solution to address the disconnect between pre-service teacher education programs and the field experience or practicum partners.
