Sat, April 5, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Convention Center, Floor: Terrace Level, Terrace IV

Abstract

The Sistah Network at the University of Denver is a mentoring program with a goal to enhance the educational and social experiences of Black graduate females. This paper will highlight the potential benefits of participation in such a program structured to support Black graduate females in their scholarly endeavors. Results will be used to gain insight into the transferability of the program structure, the values of such a program, and the overall experiences of individuals who participate in the program. As institutions recognize the importance of strategies which support and retain Black graduate women, strives can be made to implement and sustain variations of mentoring programs for this population of women.
