Sun, April 6, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Convention Center, Floor: 100 Level, 121B

Abstract

To bridge the gap between school and industry, technical and vocational universities in Taiwan have started to implement various internship policies. Funding and support both from the government and industries have further increased the drive towards full implementation, which means that internship is fast becoming a graduation requirement. However, recent students’ feedback consists of both strong positive and negative comments. To determine the actual effect of school internship policies, the current presentation shall showcase an empirical study within a technical and vocational university in Taiwan. A total of 631 students from various course of studies participated in the survey. Structured equation modeling shows that there exists a significant relationship between the school internship policies and the development of positive self-confidence.
