Is There an “Expected Performance Level” Necessary for Teacher Tenure?

Mon, April 7, 12:25 to 1:55pm, Convention Center, Floor: 100 Level, 105A

Abstract

The National Authority for Measurement and Evaluation in Education (RAMA) developed a teacher evaluation tool for the Ministry of Education that plays a central role in the annual evaluation of the teacher and includes observations, feedback, self-evaluation together with chosen artifacts and additional evidence of performance. This proposal focuses on the evaluation of teachers who are candidates for tenure in the education system and its goal is to introduce a procedure for determining a “required performance level” for use in deciding whether or not to grant tenure in the teaching profession. Finding suggests two conditions which are necessary with regard teacher tenure.
