The study explores how students’ academic and social values influence academic outcomes and investigates whether parental support moderates the relationships. A cluster analysis generated four subgroups: 1) balanced values (BAL), 2) academic value-oriented (ACA), 3) social value-oriented, (SOC), and 4) low values (LOW) groups. The BAL showed the highest scores in achievement, intrinsic motivation, and help-seeking strategies; as for academic stress, the SOC scored lowest. There were significant interaction effects of the clusters and parental support on motivation and help-seeking strategies. The BAL and SOC presented more positive outcomes when students perceived high support from their parents. The results underscore the importance of balance between academic and social values and give practical guidance for students with conflicts among diverse values.
