Sat, April 5, 8:15 to 10:15am, Convention Center, Floor: 100 Level, 109B

Abstract

Due to social and economic developments since the second half of the 20th century it becomes more and more important that employees receive on-going support in acquiring appropriate competences. However, as workforces become older, the issue of training and developing employees of different ages becomes relevant, especially when economists claim higher returns-of-invest from younger workers. Hence, this study aims to identify whether there are differences among age-related cohorts of employees in terms of their experience of support in work-related learning. Additionally, the study aims to investigate if there are differences in workplace learning support for employees of various levels of employment. It proposes that neither age nor gender make such differences but mainly and enormously the level of employment.
